Introduction
The Fat Dragon Games crew has a combined
200 years of gaming experience. All of us
have been avid D&D players for a quarter
century and now we are bringing that expe-
rience to the PDF industry. You now hold
our latest endeavour, Dragon Lore. We have
made every attempt to make this series the
benchmark for quality PDFs with full color
art and book quality designs, alternate text-
only versions for ease of printing and some
of the most creative writing in the ield. We
want this to be the new standard for d20
PDFs and hope you’ll continue to support

A warrior is only as good as the weapons he
(or she) carries. Well, not always, but a good
magic weapon never hurts, especially if it’s
a bow! In this PDF you will ind thirteen
magical bows and related items for your fan-
tasy campaign. All are fully described in d20
terms and have full creation instructions and
costs should your players wish to make one
of these items. Some of these selections are
rather powerful so if your campaign is a low-
magic setting you may wish to scale back
some of the effects they feature. As always
you are the inal word on what is appropriate
for your campaign. What we have supplied
here is a selection of ‘out of the ordinary’
items, something beyond the usual “+3 this”
or “vorpal that”.

Ghoul’s Grasp
A hideous weapon by any standard, Ghoul’s
Grasp bows were made to wreak havoc on
the population of a large keep on the out-
skirts of the borderlands. These weapons
would be ired over the walls in an effort to
spread disease on the people inside. While
this tactic was effective, the weapon is fairly
uncommon due to the nature of the materi-
als required to construct one. Reeking of
decaying lesh and having an appear-
ance to equal the smell, a Ghoul’s
Grasp bow is made from a rare
wood that is wrapped in strips
of the lesh from a ghoul.

Bow of Lawful Light
Created for the most devout Paladins and
Knights, a Bow of Lawful Light is an el-
egant weapon made from the inest woods
and metals. Intricate gilding and carvings
decorate its length and the balance is the
inest ever achieved for a bow. A Bow of
Lawful Light is a +1 longbow under normal
circumstances. When wielded by a lawful
good Paladin, the bow gains the ability to
transform up to ive arrows per day into a
shimmering arrow that appears to be made
of pure light. These arrows instantly hit their
intended target dealing 1d6 damage (plus the
original +1 bonus) even if the target is par-
tially concealed. If the arrow hits a lawful
evil target the damage is doubled, if it hits a
chaotic or neutral evil target it gains an addi-
tional +1. For every three levels the Paladin
has the damage bonus of the light arrows in-
creases by +1 up to a maximum +4.

and set of twenty arrows. The arrows are
magically strengthened so they can be re-
used many times. An Eagle’s Talon arrow
breaks on a roll of a natural 1. Other than
that they can be retrieved and used again.
The head of the arrow appears to be a three
pronged steel sculpture in the shape of an
eagle talon. When this hits a target, the talon
begins clawing into the wound for 3 rounds
causing an additional 1d4 damage for each
of the three rounds (or until it is removed, a
one round action). The bow is crafted with
carvings of feathers along its length and at
each end is the head of an eagle.
Many years ago a warlord intent on expand-
ing his sphere on control enlisted sorcerers
to make his band of mercenaries invisible.
The local Duke countered this tactic by hav-
ing his elite guard armed with weapons that
could locate invisible being including bows
that could seek out these targets. Because of
the rushed nature of their construction and
the fact that the enchantment must be trans-
ferred from the bow to the arrow being ired,
the ability to hit an invisible target is not
100% dependable. Only about 200 of these
weapons were produced and have been dis-
persed to the far corners of the world. Char-
acters inding such a bow will not have any
clue to its nature as there are no marks or
clues as to its true ability.

Price: 32,400 gp; Cost: 16,200 gp + 1296
XP.
A +2 composite bow, a seeker is made from
a dificult to obtain wood with a deep red
color. Any arrow ired from the seeker bow
has a chance of detecting and targeting in-
visible corporeal beings. When ired in the
vicinity of an invisible being, there is a 80%
chance it will ‘lock on’ to that target instead
of its intended target. The attack roll is made
as normal with all bonuses. Once hit with
the arrow, all other attacks from other char-
acters can be made at the target at a -6 pen-
alty unless the arrow is removed.

Witch’s End
Ailing from the evil effects a witch had in-
licted upon him, a ranger had this weapon
created to turn the tables on the wretched
hag.. While both ended up perishing the
end, this unique weapon survived. Made
of black lacquered wood, this +1 shortbow
has the ability to cancel out magical effects
or spells. When a target is hit, roll 1d20 per
the targeted dispel heading under the Dispel
Magic description in the PHB. The roll is
made as if Greater Dispel Magic had been
cast.
