How to Double Your Traffic.

In this video, I want to show you a cool trick that took one of my ecommerce web sites from making a little more
than $1,000 a day to $2,988 per day, in less than one month.
And I did this by doubling my traffic from Google, and No, I didn’t pay for that traffic increase either – it was NOT Pay
Per Click Traffic. It was most people call natural traffic, delivered to this web site here, A Squared Armory, right
from the Google search engine results pages.
You’re probably asking yourself, “How Hard is this gonna be?” Well, let me put it to you this way: If you’ve build a
web site, ya know, in Dreamweaver, or Front Page or NetObjectsFusion – And it really doesn’t matter how you
built your website, you could have hand-coded it in HTML in Note Pad… The point is if you’ve even built ONE Web Site
you already have the skills it takes to do what I’m about to show you.
And that’s true – if you’ve got a site out there right now – you’ve got the skills, you just need to take some action…
ACT 1 – Setting the Stage
I can remember when I got my first good Search Engine listing. I was so excited. I thought, Look Out – this is it –
here comes the cash.
Yeah well, not so much. It wasn’t until I got multiple Search Listings that my ecommerce business started to
make some real money.
And then finally, one of my ecommerce Stores got a #1 ranking for a tier 1 keyword.
That was totally cool.
ACT 1- Part 1 – The Problem Summary
But even though that #1 position was a game change for that store, it was only getting 25% of the traffic numbers
that Word Tracker said it should be getting.
Antagonist = Not getting enough traffic
So, I went to work, examining human eye-gaze data and testing new techniques and tactics to get more traffic
from Google.

Once I figured this tactic out – my life changed. The little Yahoo Store of mine when from making Hobby “Tell your
Family about it at holiday meals” money to “Call The Accountant – we’re gonna need a Tax Shelter” kind of money.
Let me show you what I’m talking about:
ACT 1- Part 2 – The Solution Summary
Follow along with me here – this is a pretty Typical Search Engine Results Page – it has 10 listings, all justified left.

You probably recognize this from our original Going Natural Videos – it’s a heat map and it measures user
behavior on a web page. Eye Gaze Data is a measurement of how users actually view a web page. There’s
generally 3 major data points here – Scanning data, Fixation Points, and Clicks. And according to our Eye Gaze
Data, and every other study that’s been released by Eyetools and Marketing Sherpa, the typical search engine
listing gets a percentage of traffic based on what position it is on a SERP page. So, if you’re in the first position,
you’re likely to get about 25% of the total clicks that happen for that search phrase.
To break it down, if a search phrase gets a total of 1000 clicks per month on Google – and you’re in the #1 position,
you’re gonna get about 250 or so of those clicks.
Not bad. But man o man would I ever like to get more of that traffic.
Introduce the PROTAGONIST
And then, we discovered THIS – The Double Listing.
See here, my site www.A2armory.com has a double listing for the search phrase “Medieval Weapons”.
There’s the first listing, which is the root url or home page, and then there’s an internal page that’s indented just
underneath.
Now, what kind of increase in traffic do you think a double listing gets?
A BIG Increase. And it doesn’t matter if it’s the first page or 5 th page – having a double listing will MORE than DOUBLE
the amount of clicks you get for that keyword.
And let me be clear – if you just had 2 listings on the same SERP Page that are normal listings – meaning, they
were not indented, your click throughs would NOT double. It’s the DOUBLE Listing where the second listing is
INDENTED that gets the clicks.
ACT 1 - PART 3 – The Example Summary
And just for some proof – here’s a couple charts that SHOW Fixation Points and Click throughs of Double Search
Listings. See how there’s simple scanning activity here? Notice how the double listing has massive amounts of
not only fixation points, but ALSO huge amounts of clicks…
Double the clicks my friend.
Now, how do you get this coveted double listing with indent?
Act 2 – The Drama Unfolds
It’s not ANYWHERE near as hard as you think. Seriously.
And let me tell you another thing – you don’t need a number 1 and number 2 listing in order to double the traffic
you get for that keyword. Let me repeat that – you do NOT need a #1 or #2 listing to double your traffic. You can
have a #7 and #8 listing, a #13 and #14 listing, even a # 40 and #41 listing and you’ll still double the amount of traffic
you get from that keyword from Google.
How cool is that? It still goes without saying that you want the highest listing possible – well duh, right?
ACT 2 – PART 1 – The Solution solves even MORE than just he main problem.

Check this out – the things that I’m going to teach you to do in this video are not only going to help you get a double
listing, they are also going to help you INCREASE the position of the listings that you have in the search engines.
Let’s show you how to do this.
The first takeaway from this concept is - right now, to get a double listing, the second part of your listing DOES NOT
have to be only 1 spot away from the first listing, in terms of ranking power.
That means, if you do this right, the second page that ranks as your indented listing only needs to be powerful
enough to be on the same page as the first listing.
That means, if you had the #1 spot for listing 1, your second listing would NOT have to be strong enough to rank #2.
(Cue Crowd Cheer).
That’s what I’m talking about.
ACT 2 – PART 1 – Apply the Solution to the Problem
I’m going to show you some diagrams of how this needs to work. Before we do that - here’s your first action
item:
Find your current listing in Google and get the following information:
1.
The title tag density. This is how often your keyword appears in your title tag.
2. Your title tag keyword prominence – this is WHERE your keyword appears in your title tag – so in this
case, the keyword Medieval Weapons appears in position 1 and 2 in my Title Tag.
3. Your On-Page Density for your primary Keyword. So, I would get the on page density for the keyword
phrase Medieval Weapons from this page. You can use ANY keyword density tool that you want. It
doesn’t matter – what does matter is that you use the same tool for measuring the second page that
you create.
Once you have this information, here’s what we’re gonna do.
We’re going to create another page on your site that has the following characteristics:
1.
The Title Tag has the Same Keyword Density and Keyword Prominence as your Original Listing Page.
But, it’s NOT going to be the same title tag – it’s going to be slightly different.
A little note here – these specifics are going to be our starting point – this is a key point – whenever you do Search
Engine Optimization you ALWAYS need a starting point – and nearly 100% of the time, you will end up changing
from your starting point in order to optimize – that’s why there’s an O in SEO.
Now, as you can see in my Medieval Weapons double listing example, my Keyword Density for Medieval
Weapons is GREATER on my second listing than it is on my first – guess how I arrived at that density? Testing.
You see, I picked a STARTING POINT, which is my test, and I measured the results, and then I improved on that result
by doing another test – in this case, I INCREASED the number of instances of the keyword phrase to get my desire
result.

Here’s a VERY important point – DO NOT just copy MY keyword density – EVERY Keyword is treated differently in
Google because there are always different numbers of competing pages – ALWAYS. So, what works for Medieval
Weapons may not work for
Knight Armor Costumes. – You see? I’ve got a double listing for Knight Armor Costumes and notice how I don’t
even have that keyword phrase in the second listings title tag?
JUST pick a STARTING POINT – you can change the specifics of density and prominence later, once you have a
result.
2. You’re going to create NEW CONTENT on this second page that is OPTIMIZED for the keyword phrase that
your first page ranks for.
This is important folks – do NOT just duplicate the content – write completely NEW content, but make the TOPIC of
the page be optimized for the keyword phrase you want to rank for.
Now, a word about what “Optimized is” – the SAME rules apply here – you need to pick a starting point, and
measure the result, then improve or Optimize it. Just to give you a target, aim for between 7 and 10 percent
keyword density for your chosen phrase when your first set out to write your second page.
Okay –what do we have here? We’ve got a title tag that’s optimized and on page content that’s optimized. Check.
Now, here’s the important part – the LINKS that you share between the pages.
ACT 2 – Part 2 – The Turning Point – Satisfy their intellectual curiosity
What we’re going to be building here is the beginnings of a mini-authority hub.
For the sake of a definition, an Authority Hub is a page that gets links from and gives links to pages that are similar
in topic. Now, the whole concept of a TOPIC is broad, and subject to a LOT of interpretation. And we’re not going to
get into it here – I’m gonna leave that to Leslie Rohde for his Going Natural 2.0 video. Heh. It’s nice to have Faculty…
Anyway, for OUR purposes, our little authority hub is going to be built first by trading links between these two
pages that have the SAME ANCHOR TEXT.
So, on my Hero page, I am going to LINK to my secondary page with the ANCHOR TEXT that I want my second page
to RANK for, and FROM my second page, I am going to LINK BACK to my Hero page with the SAME Anchor text.
Bang – that’s the basic structure. 2 pages, optimized for the same keywords, linked together with the same
anchor text.
Step 1 complete.
ACT 2 – PART 1 – Apply the Solution to the Problem
Now, for Step 2 – On Every Page that your Hero Page Links to, you want to link from those pages ALSO to your
secondary page.
See, here’s a little tip – to maximize your total rankings, every page in your site should get at links for at least 2
other pages on your site. In the case of A2Armory, I’ve got a lot more than 2 links, and as a result, the store kicks
butt in Google.

Again, as a Starting Point, the minimum that you want to accomplish is having this link relationship.
Step 2 complete.
Here’s how it works on A2armory – so how simple and natural this looks? I’ve got a link to my second page
listing in my main category navigation bar. And that navigation bar is on every single one of my category pages,
so each category page links to my second page.
Almost like we planned it that way.
Now, for step 3 – you need to go get at least 2 links from other site directly INTO page 2 with the anchor text that
you want to rank for. These are called OFF PAGE LINKS.
These are always a little harder to get – and when I say a little harder, it’s about like the difference between micro
waving a pizza and going out to Pizza Hut to pick it up. It’s just an effort thing.
Here are a few tips – Start a blog. That’s fine – just know that if it’s a new blog, you’re going to need to get links to it
for it to have any real value.
Write an article and submit it to a few article directories.
Key Point here – Many article submission sites will NOT let you have HTML included in the article – so the link on the
bottom of the article won’t have your typical anchor text.
No Problem – here’s the work around – when you create your second page, name the file the keyword that you
want to rank for.
So, at the bottom of the article, where your about the author information is, the link will be
www.yourdomain.com/keyword-keyword.html .
You see now why it’s not a bad idea to include keywords in your domain or file names? Yeah Yeah, I know –
everyone will argue about whether or not they make a difference in ranking… BY THEM SELVES, keywords in
your domain or page file names make next to ZERO difference. But the REASON to have them is exactly for the
situation I just mentioned – when you can’t get traditional HTML Anchor text into a link, your next best bet is to have
your keywords as part of your file name – that way, when the article directory that you just submitted to turns
that URL into a live link, you know have some relevant anchor text in that link.
Bang.
Step 3 Complete.
Act 2 – Part 3 – Review the Benefits of the Solution
There’s a really good chance that JUST by following the steps that I’ve given you that you’ll end up with an
Indented listing.
It could happen in as little as a week if your Google Page Rank is in the 3 to 4 range, or if you’re site gets crawled by
the Google Spider often.
It could also take a month – one of the keys to making it happen fast is to get a few good off site inbound links. The
more of those that you get, the faster it will happen. And let me be clear – you’re not going to need ANYWHERE
NEAR the number of links to make this indent listing work as you would if you were doing this for a single page.
