Instructions about how to interpret Bildbas Pictogram for Windows The interpreter file for Pictogram (Picwmf.ini) is always located in the Windows folder on your computer after you have installed Bildbas Pictogram for Windows. The start of picwmf.ini appears as follows: [ProgDir] Dir=F:\PICWMF Extension=wmf verWMF=4.1 langWMF=SV In the section ProgDir, the entry Dir states the complete search string to the picture without a terminating backslash. Extension contains picture format information that is later added to the file name that has been allocated in order to obtain the complete file name. VerWMF states the version number and langWMF the relevant language. ----------------------------- It continues as follows: [Grupper] Antal=26 1=People 2=Parts of the body ? ? ? 26=Questions ----------------------------- You should be familiar with the fact that the picture database is divided up into categories. The symbols are grouped into a number of predefined categories. To determine which categories exist, look in the section Grupper and read in Antal how many categories there are. In this case, there are 26 categories. What you can then see is that there are 26 entries (1..26) under Grupper where you can find the value, i.e. the names of the categories. In turn, these names are the names of sections further down in the file hierarchy, where you can go in and interpret the contents in the individual category. When interpreting the example above, you can see that category 1 has the value People. If you then enter the Section People, you will see the following: [People] Antal=20 Kod=a a0=A People a1=baby a2=boy ? ? ? a17=grandmother a18=brothers and sisters a19=lifeguard The entry Antal, with a value of 20, indicates that there are 20 concepts in this category. The value for Kod indicates what prefix the names of the files have in this category. To search through this category, take the code (in this case, the text string a) and concatenate a serial number to the text string. It is very important that the first serial number is given the value 0 and not 1 as is the case under Grupper. If the entry a0 exists, all you have to do is pick the value that states what the picture means. Thereafter, you step up the serial number and pick the next value until you have reached the number of picture concepts. It is very important to realise that there can be gaps in the list (for example, there is a gap in the Swedish picture database between z26 and z32). You will also see that a0, added to Extension in the section Progdir is the actual file name in the folder that Dir in the section Progdir points out. Consequently, there is a connection between the file name and the concept. ------------------------------------------ Benny Markstr?m SIH L?romedel Ume? Nygatan 18-20 90327 Ume?
