ell that’s another year put to
bed and, as a fresh one begins,
the majority of us embark on
our chosen New Year resolutions which,
in the case of Military Modelling, is
to continue to build on what we have
achieved through 2016. December 2016
was a month of mixed news and for those
fans of Euro Militaire it was, both good and
unexpected. The show has been re-born
as Euro Miniature Expo and has not only
secured the original location at Leas Cliffe
Hall Hotel, Folkestone but also the original
dates of 16/17 September have also been
preserved. We wish the organisers the
very best of luck and Military Modelling is
right behind them.
Other news for December is that Robin
Buckland has decided to call it a day as

to Small Scale Scene; the latter for 31
years! We all wish him all the best for the
future and thank him very much for his
contribution to the magazine over such a

Recommended books for military modellers
It’s another crammed issue of Military
Modelling this month which not only
features the traditional AFV builds but also
the first of many ‘how to’ type articles
beginning with a contribution from Andy
Evans. These types of articles have been in
the planning for quite some time as I believe
that Military Modelling should not only be
showcase for some outstanding modellers
but should also endeavour to encourage
novices into this thriving hobby and to help
others to expand their skills.
New and old contributors to the magazine
are as welcome as ever. I would like to
respond to one irate Canadian reader
(or maybe ex-reader by now) that I have
not ‘dropped’ anybody and that all those
who have been listed on my inherited
contributors list have been contacted. If a
contributor chooses not to contribute, that’s
purely their own decision. I look forward to
working with the old and the new!
